Shout out to my curvy gals. I posted a previous version of this photo to which someone commented it was AI. So I figured it was a good time to express my thoughts on this. This photo had some errors, which I cropped out, and it made it obvious it was AI. I purchased this photo. I have a stock membership which I pay for that allows me so many images a month. Some are AI and some are not. It's sometimes difficult to tell which ones are and which ones aren't. I utilize stock (AI or not) for one thing. To post beautiful and thought-provoking images on social media. Sometimes, I'll write a little paragraph or two inspired by the image. Sometimes I'll write something and seek out an image in stock that goes with what I wrote. I DO NOT use AI to write. I DO NOT use AI on my covers. I pay an artist I personally know who does not use AI in the art that she produces for my covers. She also does NOT use AI in any book related art that I use to promote my books. She is a skilled artist who does quality work that I pay her fairly for. She does not have a problem with me using stock images in my social media, nor does she feel cheated of work because I do this. I am an independent author. I do not have an endless stream of money and therefore cannot pay someone to produce 30 quality custom art pieces a month for me to post on social media. I also cannot afford to pay models every day of the year for photographing social media content. This would cost easily 1000x what I make selling my books. So I use stock for social media, but I pay for that stock. Everything I use has been fairly licensed to me and paid for. I would never use a stock or AI photo for a book cover - again I pay an artist for custom book covers. So there you have it.
